Robert Niesse (b. 1970)
Born in Germany.
Robert Niesse is a young German artist from Cologne specialising in abstraction.
His paintings are ,strong compositions of vertical & horizontal bands of colour which sweep across the canvas and blur into each other,
creating the illusion of an unfocussed, mysterious image.
His technique is a vigorous application of thick layers of paint with squeegee, knife and brush which squeeze, cut and scrape the image onto the canvas.
