"Light of Tibet" - Lin Yuan

Lin Yuan’s latest series of paintings features the landscape and monasteries of Tibet, the result of several long journeys to the high plateau. The artist uses broad brushstrokes of thick layers of paint to capture the sweep of the landscape and heavy mass of the buildings.

New Paintings - Lin Yuan

Both in his miniature paintings and larger works, Lin Yuan uses heavy texture and bold, broad brushstrokes reminiscent of the Expressionists. However, there is nothing rough or haphazard about his brushwork; on the contrary the brushstrokes are carefully controlled and convey his subjects in a lively and lifelike way.
